ListServer Legion breaks 100,000!
Saturday, June 17, 2000 [04:51 PM PST]
That's right, the AnalogX ListServer Legion has officially broken 100,000 subscribers this week! It's been quite a bit of work to get up to that number, but it's growing larger by the minute thanks to everyone who has helped spread the word about the site, software, and music - thanks everyone!
This weeks release is one that almost everyone should enjoy - AnalogX CacheBooster! What CacheBooster gives you the ability to do is quickly tweak the Windows disk caching mechanism (this is not virtual memory, but cache); the size of the cache, the number of files and directories that are cached into memory, and more! For more information about it, and a download, head on over to the
Download/System area and optimize your harddisk performance today!
In other news, AnalogX SuperShredder got the Gold Editor's Pick over at
WebAttack , which brings the total to 3 Gold Editor's Picks this year... It will be hard to beat last years total, but we're off to a good start! :)

This is just a quick note that there's a new version of SimpleServer:WWW available; the guys over at
USSR (Underground Security Systems Research). They're the same ones who found the last bug, and they really do a good job of notifying developers and helping to ensure that the patch works, etc... Very cool! :)
The art of Redirection...
Sunday, June 11, 2000 [02:11 PM PST]
If you're a webmaster, then you're bound to know what redirection is all about - if not, then the quick concept is that normally when someone is surfing your site, and they click on a link off of it, you have no idea where they went. That's where redirection scripts come in, they log how many times a link is clicked - with this information you can then determine what links are more popular, and what sorts of things your users would like to see more of. That's where AnalogX CGI Redirect comes it - it's a very fast, simple to use CGI Redirection that supports all of the common things people want, such as literal and masked translation, logging, etc; so, if your webserver is running on a Windows box, then head over to the
Download/Network area and get ready to start redirecting!

Everyone on the ListServer will be more than familiar with this weeks release, since it's been on the list for the past couple weeks - AnalogX SuperShredder! So just what is it? Simple, when you delete a file normally on your system the contents aren't really gone, they space is just tagged as being available for other programs to use. Normally this wouldn't be a big deal, but if you deal with any information that's either encrypted or sensitive, then it's crucial that you ensure that the contents cannot be easily retrieved by someone simply scanning your hard drive. SuperShredder is very easy to use and is available right now in the
Download/System area, so grab your copy and start securely deleting today!
A new track is up on
MP3.com entitled 'Organic' - it's one of my personal favorites, so check it out and don't forget to check out some of the other tracks there as well!
